The stock M8 clutch basket develops notching over time, and that wear is what you feel at the lever as inconsistent, grabby engagement. S&S built this basket to solve that specific problem.

It's CNC machined from solid billet aluminum and fitted with patent-pending stainless steel wear-liner inserts. Those liners are the heart of the design — stainless holds up far better than the bare aluminum of a stock basket or the hard-anodized aluminum used in other aftermarket options, so the notching that degrades clutch feel is virtually eliminated. Actuation stays consistent as the miles add up, and modulation at the lever stays smooth.

Carbon steel threaded inserts are integrated into the basket for strength and reliability where it's needed. And because the basket is built to stock dimensions, it accepts any clutch pack made for the OEM basket — including Rekluse TorqDrive packs — so you're not locked out of a clutch setup you already run or plan to build toward.

One benefit that isn't obvious from the parts list: installing this basket improves primary sprocket and primary chain alignment compared to the stock configuration, which means more efficient power transfer through the primary.
